Angel networks: learn and invest with other angels

A relationship-led path combining deal flow, shared diligence, education, and sometimes founder support.

What it is

An angel network helps individual investors meet founders, review opportunities, and learn from one another. Some coordinate introductions and diligence. Others use shared vehicles.

Why investors choose it

A network can reduce the isolation of direct investing. Members may combine industry knowledge and build a more regular practice.

What to compare

Look at eligibility, membership fees, geography, focus, cadence, typical checks, deal volume, selection control, investment structure, and expected founder support.

Limitation

Group access does not eliminate risk or replace your judgment. Social proof can amplify weak decisions as easily as strong ones.

How to use this guide

Treat the route, provider, and specific offering as three separate decisions. A provider can be operational while unavailable in your country. You can be eligible for an account while ineligible for a particular offering. An offering can be visible while closed to new investment. Check each layer at the time you act.

Before committing money, record:

  1. The amount you can afford to lose completely.
  2. The legal entity and instrument you would own.
  3. The fees, carry, and administrative costs.
  4. The transfer restrictions and realistic holding period.
  5. The evidence you used, including its date.
  6. The conditions that would make you decline.

Private startup investments are speculative and generally illiquid. Access is not an endorsement, a regulatory framework is not a guarantee, and a recognizable platform does not remove company or structure risk.

Verification standard

Own a Little prefers current official provider pages, regulator records, and offering documents. We separate operational status, geographic access, investor eligibility, and live-offering status because they change independently. When a fact cannot be confirmed, the correct label is “not verified,” not a guess.

This guide is educational. It does not recommend a security, determine eligibility, or replace legal, tax, or financial advice.
